Introduction
Jaktiv ApS (Jaktiv) has established this policy outlining the core principles regarding how Jaktiv ensures that all personal data is processed securely and in compliance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the “GDPR”) and the Danish Data Protection Act. Jaktiv is committed to protecting the integrity and privacy of its customers, employees and other stakeholders.
This policy focuses on those sections of the GDPR which are directly or indirectly applicable for Jaktiv.
This policy applies to all processing of personal data by Jaktiv in electronic forms or in physical files that are structured in a way that allows ready access to information about individuals. Therefore, this policy applies to the processing for which Jaktiv acts as the controller.
This policy also applies to the processing of personal data performed by processors, i.e. entities that process personal data on behalf of Jaktiv. Jaktiv remains accountable and liable for the processing of personal data performed by processors on its behalf.
By using the Jaktiv app, users acknowledge and agree to the terms and data practices outlined in this policy.

As the data controller, Jaktiv determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data on the Jaktiv app and related services.
2. Collection of Personal Data
We collect personal data to provide a comprehensive and personalized experience on the Jaktiv app. This includes the following types of information:
2.1 Profile Information
- Name and Age: Required to create your user profile and personalize content.
- Email Address: Used for account creation, login, notifications, and app support.
- Location Data: Used to show nearby events, hunting areas, and communities. Location data is only processed with your consent.
- Interests: As selected by the user upon account creation. Used to customize content, community engagement, and relevant advertising.
2.2 Social and Community Features
- Posts, Photos, and Videos: Shared within Jaktiv’s social feeds, groups, and forums. Public content is viewable by other app users.
- Chat Messages: Stored securely and visible only to you and the intended recipient.
- Groups and Forums: Content shared in these spaces is visible to members and, in some cases, the broader Jaktiv community if shared in public groups.
2.3 Marketplace Information
- Listing Information: Details about products and services you list, including images and descriptions.
- Direct Communications: Buyer-seller communications may be logged to monitor compliance with community guidelines and provide support.
2.4 Advertising and Usage Data
- Usage Data: Includes device type, IP address, screen-time, number of sessions, and in-app actions, which helps us optimize app performance.
- Targeted Advertising: Ads displayed on Jaktiv are tailored based on your profile information (e.g., age, location, and interests) and possibly non-identifiable usage data (e.g., app activity). While advertisers do not access your identifiable data, Jaktiv may share aggregated and anonymized insights (e.g., total impressions, demographic breakdowns) with advertising partners to optimize ad performance. Users can edit their interests at any time, which will update ad targeting from that point onward.
2.5 Jaktiv PRO Data (if applicable)
If you subscribe to Jaktiv PRO, we collect additional data, such as enhanced profile preferences, to provide more precise recommendations and advanced features.
3. How We Use Personal Data
We use your data for the following purposes:
- Personalizing Experience: Tailoring content, community interactions, and advertisements to your interests.
- Improving Services: Using usage data for troubleshooting and service enhancements.
- Community Safety: Monitoring posts and messages to ensure compliance with our community guidelines.
- Advertising and Marketing: Showing relevant ads based on your profile, age, gender, location, interests, and activity.
- Legal Compliance: Meeting the GDPR, Danish privacy laws, and other legal requirements.
4. Legal Basis for Data Processing
All processing of personal data shall be performed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject. Processing shall be lawfully only if and to the extent that at least one of the following applies:
- the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes,
- processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract,
- processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which Jaktiv is subject, or
- processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Jaktiv or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests of fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data, in particular where the data subject is a child.
The legal basis which Jaktiv’s processing mostly relies on are consent, contract and legitimate interests.
- Consent: For location data, social sharing, and any marketing preferences.
- Contractual Necessity: Data required to deliver the services you use, like profile creation, chat, and marketplace listings.
- Legitimate Interests: For service optimization, personalized ads, and community safety.
- Legal Obligations: Compliance with Danish and EU regulation, including the GDPR.
All processing performed by Jaktiv shall adhere to the data subject’s rights, such as the right to revoke consent and the right to obtain information regarding Jaktiv’s processing activities.
5. Data Subject’s Rights
In accordance with the GDPR, the data subject has the following rights in relation to his or her personal data:
- The right to be informed about the collection and use of his or her personal data.
- The right of access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- The right to rectification: Correct any inaccurate data.
- The right to erasure: Request deletion of your data, subject to legal or contractual requirements.
- The right to restrict processing: Limit processing under certain circumstances.
- The right to data portability: Receive a copy of your basic profile data which we use for advertisement targeting in a structured, machine-readable format.
- The right to object: Withdraw consent for specific processing activities, including marketing. In most cases, such a withdrawal of consent would constitute (and require) that you cease to use Jaktiv.
- Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling: We do not engage in automated decision-making without human involvement.
Data subjects with a request regarding the processing of their personal data should submit the matter in writing to Support@jaktiv.com. Jaktiv will endeavour to reply within one (1) month. In addition to lodging a complaint with Jaktiv, the data subject also has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
6. Transfer of Data and Third-Party Access
Jaktiv will only transfer or provide access to personal data to third parties when Jaktiv is assured that the data will be processed legitimately and protected appropriately by the third party. Where a third party is deemed to be a controller, Jaktiv will enter into an appropriate agreement with the controller to clarify each party’s responsibilities in respect to the personal data transferred.
Jaktiv does not sell or lease personal data. Data sharing only occurs under the following specific, controlled conditions:
- Service Providers: Third-party providers who assist with functions such as hosting, analytics, messaging, payments, and advertising.
- Legal Requirements: When required to meet legal obligations or protect our rights.
- Aggregated Data: Anonymized, aggregated data for analytics, which cannot be linked to individual users.
Jaktiv ensures that any processor engaged by Jaktiv may only process personal data in accordance with a written contract with Jaktiv, which sets out the obligations and instructions that the processor must follow with regard to personal data.
7. Retention of Personal Data
Personal data shall not be kept longer than necessary. The retention period will be determined by the purpose of the processing, i.e. the reason why the personal data is processed, or by EU or national legislation that determines how long personal data may be kept in an identifiable form.
If a data subject lawfully withdraws consent previously given for the processing of personal data, Jaktiv will promptly delete the personal data processed on the basis of that consent.
With regard to profile and user information, such personal data will be kept as long as an account is active. It will be deleted or anonymised within thirty (30) days after the deletion of the account.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect personal data, including:
- Encryption: Data transmitted through Jaktiv is encrypted via HTTPS.
- Access Controls: Restricted access to personal data by authorized personnel only.
- Secure Storage: Data is stored on servers with advanced security protocols.
Despite our efforts, no system is entirely secure. We recommend using strong passwords and securing your devices.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Jaktiv app and associated services such as the Jaktiv website may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Analyze Traffic: To improve Jaktiv app’s functionality and user experience.
- Personalize Content: To show content that aligns with your interests.
- Advertising: To display ads tailored to the user’s profile information.
The user can manage some cookie settings through device or browser settings. However, disabling these settings may limit the functionality of the app. Withdrawal of consent to use explicitly provided user details for advertising purposes would imply (and require) that you stop using the Jaktiv app.
10. Children’s Privacy
Jaktiv is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 16.
Jaktiv requires users to confirm their age during account creation. If we discover a user is under 16, we will promptly delete their data and notify them of account closure.
If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us immediately at Support@jaktiv.com.
11. International Data Transfers
Jaktiv is based in Denmark, and user data is stored within the EU. Should data transfer outside the EU be necessary, we ensure it complies with the GDPR through Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved mechanisms.
12. Review and Adoption
Jaktiv will continually review and update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in Jaktiv’s practices, technology and legal requirements. We will notify data subjects of any material changes within the app and encourage them to review this policy regularly.
Continued use of the Jaktiv app after such a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
